Founded in 2019 by Dr. Johnna Thomas, Restore Dental was born from a vision to move beyond traditional dentistry and create a space where kindness and clinical excellence coexist. Dr. Thomas is: Wife. Mom. Dog mom. Sister. Daughter. Aunt. Kansas Dentist. Volunteer. Dog rescuer. Entrepreneur. Lady boss. Fitness fanatic. Lover of learning & Rap music.
Dr. Johnna (John-na) Thomas grew up just outside of Kansas City on a farm. She is a first generation college graduate and dentist. Her love for learning began while achieving her first Bachelor’s degree in Biology & Psychology. A year later, she attended University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry and attained her Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene.
She practiced as a dental hygienist in the Kansas City area for a few years, and although she felt it was a rewarding profession, she felt called to return to school in order to provide a wider variety of services for her community.
While in dental school, Dr. Thomas was a member of the coveted Senior Departmental advanced studies in restorative dentistry. She was also inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. She graduated from University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry Magna Cum Laude with distinction and received the Dentsply Sirona Merit Award in Removable Prosthodontics.
At Restore Dental, Dr. Thomas has created a judgment free atmosphere where patients feel comfortable and her teammates are excited to serve their community.

AMANDA
Practice Coordinator
Amanda, the Practice Coordinator at Restore Dental, has been instrumental to our team since the office’s inception in September of 2019, alongside Dr. Johnna. Not only is she a dedicated professional committed to ensuring the highest standard of patient experience, but she also plays a vital role as a mother to her two wonderful children and a loving wife in her personal life. In addition to these roles, another fascinating aspect of Amanda’s persona is her expertise in horticulture. She is a veritable ‘plant guru’, with a deep knowledge and understanding of diverse plant life. This multifaceted individual brings a unique perspective and energy to our practice, contributing to Restore Dental’s warm and welcoming environment.
Amanda’s positive attitude and infectious energy make her an invaluable asset to our team. She brings a sense of joy and enthusiasm to her work, which helps create a positive and uplifting atmosphere for patients. Her warm and caring nature also makes her an exceptional listener, allowing her to connect with patients on a personal level and provide individualized care.
Amanda has been happily married since 2015 and is mom to two amazing humans, 2 rescue cats and 1 rescue dog named Poppy.
AUBREY
Dental Assistant
Aubrey joined the Restore Dental team as a Patient Coordinator in July 2021. Demonstrating a knack for patient care and organizational skills, she transitioned to an Assistant role within the clinic in July 2023, where her responsibilities expanded to include direct patient support and lab coordination.
Born and raised in Kansas City, Aubrey values her roots and cherishes time spent with friends and family. Balancing work and personal life, she is a testament to Restore Dental’s commitment to fostering a team that is as dedicated to their community as they are to their patients.
JODI
Patient Coordinator
Jodi became a part of the Restore Dental team in August 2023, taking up the significant role of a patient coordinator. She embarked on this new journey after relocating from a quaint small town in Texas to the bustling metropolis of Kansas City. Aside from her professional life, Jodi cherishes her role as an aunt, adding joy to her family life. In her spare time, she loves discovering the hidden gems of Kansas City and meeting new people, enriching her social circle in her new home city.
Jodi’s passion for patient care and her genuine interest in helping people led her to join the Restore Dental team. As a patient coordinator, she plays a crucial role in ensuring that each patient receives personalized and top-notch dental care.
Jenifer
Dental Assistant
Jenifer joined the Restore Dental team in September 2024 and brings a warm, attentive presence to every patient interaction. Born and raised in Kansas City, she combines Midwestern friendliness with strong clinical skills to help patients feel comfortable and informed during their visits.
Engaged and a proud pet parent to two energetic dogs, Jenifer treasures time spent with family and loves creating a welcoming, positive environment at the office. Her patient-focused approach emphasizes clear communication, gentle care, and teamwork with clinicians to ensure efficient, high-quality treatment.

Registered Dental Hygienist
With over 20 years of experience as a registered dental hygienist, Jenny brings expertise and a warm, patient-focused approach to our team. She is passionate about educating patients on oral health and helping them achieve their brightest smiles.
Outside of the office, Jenny is an avid rock climber who loves scaling new heights. When she’s not climbing, you’ll find her surrounded by her beloved plants or spending quality time with her loyal dog. Jenny’s dedication to both her profession and her hobbies makes her a vibrant and valued member of our team.
